Recently all of my friends have been telling me I need to check out Flips Burgers & Brews, and as much as I enjoy a good burger, I kind of wondered whether or not a new burger joint really needed to be on my radar. If not for the recommendation of my friends, I might have missed out on a really good thing.
Pretty much everything, from the food to the service, was top-notch. When you’re looking for a sports bar in Mesa or a burger restaurant to fill up after a long day, I’m not sure you could beat Flips Burgers & Brews.
Flips Burgers & Brews is a pretty casual place; so when you walk in the door, don’t expect a white tablecloth. While I do like those sorts of places, we all know it’s not an everyday kind of thing.
What Flips Burgers & Brews is comfortable and ideal for a group of friends, family members or coworkers. I came with a few of my girlfriends and we found the seating comfortable and the environment friendly for a little impromptu girl’s night.
Food, Food, Food
All of us arrived hungry, so we were happy to see the healthy portions hit our table. We started with the battered zucchini and pig shanks appetizer, both of them were amazing and we cleaned our plates.
After the appetizers, I enjoyed the Flippin’ bacon burger, which included a beef-and-bacon blended patty, Applewood smoked bacon, pepper jack cheese, a fried egg, fried onion straws and a bacon aioli. Holy cow, was this thing good!
There was so much burger on my plate I didn’t get to try all the others, but between that and the craft beer, I was pleasantly satisfied after dinner.
Good Old Fashioned Service
Finally, I’d hate to talk only about the atmosphere and food without mentioning the service. From the host at the door to the server who brought our food and drinks all night, they sure made you feel like home.
The next time I’m in the mood for a burger, I’ll definitely be rounding up my friends and taking them all out to Flips Burgers & Brews!
